Russian Language Training Tours
Intourist offers Russian language training for groups and individuals.
Language training is provided in the cities of Moscow and St. Petersburg.
The 14 to 24–day intensive Russian language courses are available
throughout the year. They are conducted by university language teachers.
Classes are held 5 or 6 times a week, 4 academic hours a day. The length
of study can be extended on request.
There are four programs for students with different levels of Russian:
beginners; students with a rudimentary knowledge of Russian; mid–level
students; advanced students.
On completing the course, students receive graduation certificates.
Intourist offers students a variety of additional cultural activities
which can be paid for through the travel agency on arrival. Prices are
determined by agreement with the partner travel agency and depend on the
services requested.
1. Group Language Training
Three types of Russian language training are available: |
1.1. |
Accommodation in hotels and students’ hostels with classes
organized in teachingcenters, schools and universities, as well
as on the hotel premises. |
1.2. |
Living with a Russian family.
Classes are held at the university teaching center. |
1.3. |
Living in the homes of the Russian language teachers (for individuals
and groups of 15 or less students);
Individual language training (15 to 24 academic hours a week). |
Requirements:
Classes comprise of no more than 8 students with similar level of
language knowledge. In cases when a student’s knowledge is
below that of other class members, Intourist can provide additional
tutoring on request, which can be paid for through the partner travel
agency.
Services include:
double room hotel accommodation or a room for 1 or 2 persons in
private homes (on Intourist’s confirmation); half board (breakfast
and dinner); Russian language classes (3 to 4 academic hours 5 or
6 days a week); additional activities: lectures in literature,history
or folklore; an evening with a Russian family; a round–table
discussion or a trip to a literary museum (depending on the program
of stay, upon Intourist’s confirmation); guided excursion
(transportation provided by Intourist in accordance with the reservation);
bus transfer on arrival/departure; porter services (2 pieces of
luggage); farewell dinner (on request). |
2. Individual Language Training
2.1. |
Individual language training with accommodation in a first class
hotel in the cities of Moscow and St.Petersburg.
Services include: breakfast; individual Russian language training
(3–4 academic hours 5–6 days a week); car transfer on
arrival/departure; sightseeing tour or an evening with a Russian
family. |
2.2. |
Individual Russian language training with a stay in the instructor’s
home. |
Available in Moscow and St.Petersburg. Arrival and
departure should be scheduled for a Saturday.
Services include:
full board with the instructor’s family; Russian language
classes (10 to 24 academic hours a week) in accordance with the
confirmed schedule; textbooks; 1 or 2 excursions with the instructor
within the city limits. |
3. Individual language instruction with a stay in the instructor’s
home.
Available in Moscow and St.Petersburg.
Services include: single or double room accommodation; half board (breakfast
and dinner); Russian language classes (4 academic hours 5 days a week)
in the teaching center (school or university), or at the place of residence;
special interest studies (3 hours on Saturdays): Russian literature, history,
folklore or music.
Note:
Confirmation and the requested information should be forwarded to Intourist
not later than 15 days before scheduled arrival. In cases when students
stay with families, please inform Intourist of their age, occupation and
special interests. Information on the level of their knowledge of Russian
and the requested level of instruction should also be forwarded.
4. Specialized study programs
Available in Moscow and St.Petersburg. Intourist
arranges programs in cooperation with the universities. |
4.1. |
The summer RLG seminars at Moscow or St.Petersburg University
operate on fixed dates in July–August.
Duration: 2 or 4 weeks. The program is a combination of the Russian
language training lectures and special events. Students are accommodated
at the university campus, and are provided with half board and bus
transfer on arrival and departure. |
4.2. |
Business Russian at Moscow University.
Duration: 2 weeks to one month. |
4.3. |
Advanced professional training course for those who speak Russian. |
4.4. |
Further specialized training in Slavonic philology. Duration:
2 weeks to 10 months.

Information about the level of students’ knowledge of Russian
and the requested level of instruction should be forwarded. |
4.5. |
International program of studies of Russian history and culture
(held at Moscow University).
Duration: 14 days.
Number of students: 20 to 25. Working languages: English/Russian. |
