Arkhangelsk

Arkhangelsk is the northern Russian port city, located on the banks of the Northern Dvina River. It is rightfully considered the cultural capital of Pomerania: the traditions of the Russian North are carefully kept here.
The city attracts tourists with both artificial objects and picturesque nature. Ancient architecture of Arkhangelsk, the exhibits of museums – of Fine Arts, Local History, Northern Maritime – are impressive. It is also recommended to visit Gostiny Dvor – the oldest building in the city.
Outside the city there is also something to admire. For example, the open-air museum Malye Korely presents more than 100 unique wooden buildings of the XIX – early XX centuries. And in the Kenozero Park, included in the UNESCO World Network of Biosphere Reserves, you can plunge into the charming atmosphere of antiquity and reconnect with nature.
